Hello from Honduras! My name is Emily, and as many of you may have read in the past, I was the summer intern during the summer of 2017. I left Honduras in August to finish my last year of school at Mississippi State University. Thankfully, I graduated in May with a degree in Foreign Language with a concentration in Spanish.
Last summer Emily Romero and I began discussing the possibility of returning with Jubilee after I graduated. I shared with her that I did not know where God was leading me after graduation. I knew he was leading me back to Honduras, but I did not know the exact place.
So after many prayers, seeking advice from others, and listening to my heart, I have now returned with Jubilee until the end of the school year in November! I am so excited to be back, surrounded by the students, teachers, and community. Jubilee truly is something special and has something special in my heart. I am thankful for the opportunity to spend the rest of the year where I feel is right and that I feel the Lord has specifically placed me during this season of life.
My daily routine looks different everyday, but one thing that is constant are pictures. I will be doing a lot of what I did in the past—taking pictures to share with you all! However, this has turned into something that I never imagined. It gives me a chance to turn the camera around after snapping a picture and remind these children that they are beautiful sons and daughters of Christ. I have the privilege to catch some of the most genuine smiles and laughs, and I am forever thankful to be on the other side of the lens, seeing these children for who they really are. I will also be doing a lot of behind the scenes work, within the communication and website realm. If you would like to hear more about my time here at Jubilee or more details within ministry, feel free to contact me!
Again, I am excited to be back, busy, and most importantly spend time with the kiddos. So here is to a great rest of the year, diving into new adventures and doing life among the people of Honduras.
