Our English teacher Mrs. Garcia shares: “This is our first time at Jubilee doing a Spelling Bee with all the students from first to ninth grade. The main objective is to learn more words and increase the four skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing.  WIth the younger kids, we began by studying the alphabet, repeating and singing the letters, then we started to spell orally easy and short words to prepare the students. One week before the spelling contest, we had an in-class competition with the winner of each class going on to represent each grade in the final School-wide Spelling Bee.  As their English teacher, I’m happy with the results.  It will be a big challenge, but very exciting to see them compete in future contests at the school district level.
